In 1966, when I was a newcomer to Colombo and without much fluency in Sinhala language, I had a chance to see this film and I was so drawn by Gamini Fonseka's acting , I went on to see this film five times at a stretch. As an anti hero, Gamini in his first directorial venture made it marvelous. With Punya Heendeniya, Anula Karunatillake and Tony Ranasinghe, this film remains in my memory as one of the best, I have seen in my life time.
Last scene, where a mighty person in the past, an arrogant man in the village with so much of power during his hey days lying helpless even without a person to give him a cup of water. Everybody has left him. When the girl, whom he couldn't even touch with all his efforts, come there to give him the final sip of water. He grumbles into pieces.. in the title sequences. It's a masterpiece etched in my memory.
I still cherish the chance I had in working with him in "Nomiyana Minnusu" film.
